The project

Locations Studied for Wind Turbines

Over the last 18 months, we have met with citizens, municipalities and interest groups to develop the wind power component of the Projet Mauricie. Wind power will be used to supply our green hydrogen production plant, helping to decarbonize local businesses.

We have undertaken one of the largest environmental impact studies in Quebec history, devoting more than 25,000 hours to studying and characterizing an area 1,300 km² in size or almost 3 times the surface area of the Island of Montréal.

Our goal is to reduce the potential impacts of wind turbines. The maps presented here take account of the many comments we have received since the start of the project:

  • 71 % of the wind turbines are located outside cultivated land
  • 1.3 km is the average distance from the closest residence
  • 3.5 km is the average distance from urban perimeters
